Final Project: Leave my Body

IMG_7231

Leave my body.

“Leave my body” is the abstract representation of feelings, thoughts, and illusion of freedom. I want to leave my body and sublimate myself through death, to then revive. I can deliver my body to deteriorate in the ground, because my soul is greater than flesh and bones. I am passing to this perfect world, to this perfect reality.

This project was completely thought. As I planned in the beginning and applying the different techniques, I achieved in every image a clean and aesthetic composition.

In this project, there is a personal connection between the pictures and our lives, and there’s a mutual understanding of our own histories. Three different lives, two countries, one feeling. I feel this project as a claim, as a song of my soul. I am screaming, begging for redemption. I need a rest. I need to leave my body.

Using the correct color palette helped to keep the compositions consistent, clear, and unify; achieving to read one story. The cool color used in the series of Diana’s photographs understanding protection, calm, and a higher level soul incarnate to help others. Camilo’s color palette represents the unconscious and mystery. The warm color that I chose for my series of photographs symbolizes my relationship to the external world, the needs and wants of the physical body and the ways in which these are satisfied.
